INDIANA QBS COALITION
MISSION STATEMENT

The goal of the Indiana QBS Coalition is to promote an understanding and acceptance of the merits and benefits of procuring professional services by using the Qualifications Based Selection process within the community, trade organizations and our clients.

INDIANA QBS HISTORY

After application to the three national sponsoring organizations: the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), and the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Indiana was awarded $10,000 in seed money in 1990 to initiate a QBS program.

The sponsoring organizations offer a one time financial grant of up to $10,000 based on the quality of the application and level of participation by the professional service community. Indiana was the first state ever to receive the entire $10,000 grant. The reason is because of the solidarity of the local professional organizations representing the built and natural environment.

Indiana is organized and unified.

Upon receipt of the grant money in 1990, the Indiana QBS Coalition was formed. A Coalition Board of Directors was created and by-laws were drafted. The Coalition is currently funded by volunteer contributions from member organizations and companies not affiliated with the above organizations who may benefit from the Coalition’s activities.

The Indiana QBS Coalition has been extremely effective in creating an awareness of the qualification based selection process statewide and continues to be the only resource in Indiana for information and assistance associated with the selection of professional services.
